An ongoing series of small sculptures that are direct outgrowths of spatial musings within my sketchbooks. I have confined these diorama-like pieces into a consistent cubic dimension/ configuration as a design restraint and three-dimensional extension of their thumbnail origins.
The term 'Knee Vignette' is an homage to my artist hero Robert Wilson-who coined the term 'Knee Play' (in reference to his epic theatrical productions) to describe connecting segments between major acts. In this case my Knee Vignettes act as musings, maquettes, catalysts for future larger pieces.
